BASF up, but still trying to hive off textiles and leather

After a year that saw unprecedented levels of chemical destocking by their customers BASF looks to be back on track with a solid set of figures for the first quarter of 2010. Net profit increased to over 1 billion Euros (up from 375 million Euros last year) and they are predicting that prices as well as volumes will rise throughout 2010.
