The EPA has announced that 4 groups of chemicals are to be labelled as Chemicals of Concern in a move similar to that of EU Reach legislation.

However there are two major differences for the textile industry:-

· The EPA has merely signalled its intent - there is no legislation yet.

· There is more to be concerned about - some of the chemicals earmarked by the EPA are very much textile chemicals.
