Chlorine under the microscope

The headlines coming out of the US over the weekend have put the use of chlorine and therefore chlorine based chemistry in the spotlight.

A report issued by the Department of Homeland Security has highlighted concerns over the transportation and use of chlorine gas in a number of industries that include the manufacture of Titanium Dioxide pigments, bleach for drinking water, effluent treatment and the manufacture of chlorine salts.
